We are pleased to announce the 2013/2014 schedule for the all inclusive workshops here at Kimura Nursery.

Saturday December14, 2013 9am until 12:30 pm

 Using 7-10 year old 5 gallon sized Prostrata Juniper each student will be guided through the process of finding and styling the bonsai within. These trees will end up in a variety of styles many with deadwood features.  Includes 5 gallon Prostrata Juniper, wire, soil and plastic training pot. Maximum 10 participants. Cost is only 80.00

Saturday February 8, 2014 9am until 12:30 pm

Using 9-10 year old pre-trained Hackberries with excellent branching and ramification we will cover deciduous tree refinement and transplanting from training pot to bonsai pot, resulting in trees that can be ready for show in a short period of time. Includes 9-10 year old Pre-trained Hackberry in training pot, wire, soil and appropriate bonsai pot. Maximum 8 participants, cost is only $180.00

Saturday April 12, 2014 9am until 12:30pm

Using partially trained nursery grown Tamarisk we will cover the creation of a tree designed in the weeping style. These trees will have some deadwood features that create a dynamic contrast to the delicate foliage and flowers. Includes partially trained 10-year-old Tamarisk, wire, soil and plastic training pot. Maximum 8 participants cost is only 150.00

Saturday May 10, 2014 9am until 12:30pm

Using partially trained Little leaf Olives we will go through the styling and transplanting from training pot to bonsai pot of a shohin sized (8" or less) Olive. Focus will be on selecting branches, possible deadwood creation and transplanting. Includes partially trained Olive tree, wire, soil and appropriate bonsai pot. Maximum 10 participants. Cost is only 110.00

Saturday, June 7, 2014 9am until 12:30pm

Using 5 gallon Narrow leaf Ficus we will go through the basics of styling and potting into a training pot one of the favorite Ficus for bonsai. Most trees will be in the banyan or umbrella shaped styles. Includes 5 gallon Ficus nerifola, wire, soil, and plastic training pot. Maximum 10 participants. Cost is only 80.00
